These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Newsish (the “app”). By downloading or using Newsish, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Newsish on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Terms of Service and these Terms. This license is for your personal, non-commercial use only.

What Newsish does

Newsish is a news-reading app that aggregates publicly available articles from the RSS feeds that news outlets publish, and helps you filter and organize them according to your own preferences, using on-device classification.

Third-party content

Articles, headlines, images, and other content shown in Newsish are sourced from third-party publishers. That content belongs to its original publishers and is subject to their own copyright and terms — Newsish does not claim ownership of it. We aggregate and link to this content in the manner each publisher’s feed makes available (for example, RSS summaries), and we are not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, or availability.

Newsish’s own design, code, on-device filtering technology, and branding are owned by us and are not covered by the license above beyond what’s needed to use the app normally.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where applicable law permits it
• Use the app to scrape, republish, or redistribute third-party content at scale in a way that violates the originating publisher’s terms
• Interfere with the app’s operation or attempt to circumvent its content filtering or classification systems for a purpose other than your own personal use
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose

No warranty on content accuracy

Newsish organizes and filters news content but does not write, edit, fact-check, or verify it. Article content, headlines, and metadata come from third-party sources, and we make no representation about their accuracy, bias, completeness, or timeliness. Any filtering or classification the app performs (including topic and style filters) is a best-effort tool to help you manage what you see — it is not a guarantee that content will always be correctly categorized.

Disclaimer of warranties

Newsish is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, since it depends on third-party feeds outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including damages related to reliance on any content displayed in it.

Termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use Newsish. You can end them at any time by deleting the app — there is no account to close and nothing else to do. If you violate these Terms, your license to use the app ends automatically.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above whenever a meaningful change is made.

Apple’s standard EULA

To the extent these Terms conflict with Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard Apple EULA), the Apple EULA governs your relationship with Apple, and these Terms govern matters specific to Newsish and its developer.
